| Computer Science BSc (Hons) |
![]() Azad is offering this programme in collaboration with Kingston University London, with the first year taught at Azad and with subsequent years at Kingston. The computer science course emphasises the software aspect of computing but also gives you an understanding of the underlying hardware. Analysis, design and programming are essential topics, together with subjects such as databases, data communications and operating systems. The course introduces you to the business world and provides the skills you’ll need to operate in a professional environment. Core subjects include computing systems, information management and software engineering. At later levels of the course many of the modules are optional, enabling you to choose subjects to suit your personal or career interests. You can select groups of optional modules to form themes such as software systems and internet computing. You’ll also learn to apply theory to solve problems in an industrial or business context. The first year of the degree is common to a number of programmes run by the Faculty of Computing, Information Systems & Mathematics at Kingston, offering AZAD students the option to transfer onto other degree pathways on successful completion of their first year. There is also the opportunity to undertake a placement year between the second and third years of study where you will be working in paid employment with employers such as GlaxoSmithKline, Accenture Technology Services and Disney, in a job that will provide you with practical experience of the aspects of computing covered in your studies. All the degrees on offer are accredited by the British Computer Society. The award will be issued by Kingston University.
