Azad Digital Library

Azad University (IR) in Oxford is pleased to announce a ‘new look’ for our digital library. We now have a fully fledged digital platform in operation giving on site access to a vast store of academic resources in almost every field of the sciences and humanities.

This is a rich resource and one that is vital to our academic work here at the Oxford branch. It will give vital support to both our students and staff in the development of teaching and research projects. It will also allow us to broaden the range and scope of our Short Course Programme.

We would like to thank our parent institution, Islamic Azad University in Iran for their help and cooperation in bringing this project through to a successful conclusion. We will all reap great benefit from having this source available to us and we are deeply grateful.

AUO Library

Our library is located on the ground floor of the Ferdowsi Building next to the language laboratory.

Our Graduate Studies section is dedicated to sources on thesis writing and research methods. This includes a selection of books on selecting resources, developing a bibliography, undertaking a critical literature review and structuring an argument. We also have sources on writing project and funding proposals, and a set of useful reference guides for improving writing and understanding the PhD process in UK universities.

Our English language section has several sets of intermediate to advanced course books for English language instruction and preparation for the IELTS exam. In addition we have a special section for literature including a number of English and American novels, abridged for intermediate to advanced learners. In the reference section, students have access to a number of excellent English language dictionaries both for language study and for preparing course work and research papers in specialized fields.

We add to the above sections on a regular basis, depending on feed back from both staff and students.

One of the highlights of our library is our section for Arabic and Persian sources. The Arabic collection focuses on Islamic studies and includes works on Islamic law, history and philosophy. For Iranian studies, we have a collection of works in Persian, with a special focus on history and literature.
