Azad University (IR) in Oxford runs the PhD by research programme in collaboration with its UK partner universities. Programmes are available in a range of subjects from the applied sciences to the liberal arts and humanities.Applicants are required to have a Master’s degree in their chosen field of study and a minimum IELTS (or equivalent) score of 6.5.The normal length of study for this programme is three years. Students will usually spend 18 months at the partner university and 18 months at the Azad campus in Oxford. Variations on this arrangement are possible depending on the student’s circumstances and only in agreement with the partner university.The availability of subject areas and supervisors can vary from year to year and applicants are advised to acquaint themselves with the information on their chosen partner university website before beginning the application procedure.Depending on the subject, applicants will be required to submit either a statement of research interests or a research proposal. Further information about this can be found on the partner university website.Applying for a PhD is a lengthy process and the admissions procedures at many UK universities require a great deal of time. Applicants are advised to get their applications to us early; preferably in January of the year they want to enrol.
