Stroud Court Language School
Azad University (IR) in Oxford has its own English Language School to help you to gain confidence in the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing and achieve the levels of English required by universities in Britain. Stroud Court Language School does this through a range of part-time English courses and full-time courses where you can concentrate on English or simply enjoy a few of hours of English support, depending on your needs and the demands of your course.
![]() This year’s summer schools. Wonderful learning with lots of real life experience! Full-time courses include 21 hours direct-contact teaching time every week, and 9 hours of directed non-contact English language assignments and activities. For part-time courses, you can choose your hours. (See Thinking of Applying) The courses are designed to help you become more competent in the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) as well as use English grammar and vocabulary accurately and appropriately and develop confidence speaking in social situations. Both general and academic English are taught; at the elementary stage there is a greater emphasis on general English and at the more advanced stages there is more emphasis on academic English. You will be encouraged to develop your confidence in using English in a variety of situations and for various purposes. Teachers will also help you understand and work on areas of individual weakness and build the independent study strategies that you will need when studying at a British university. |
IELTS Examinations
At higher levels, students will normally receive intensive preparation for taking the IELTS examination, which is normally required for applications to British universities. IELTS is jointly managed by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL), British Council and IDP Education Australia: IELTS Australia.
